Black Canyon of the Gunnison
Montrose, Colorado

Pictures just don't do justice to the sheerness of the drops of this canyon.  Looking like its made mostly of schists, the erosion of the walls form spires and deep crags.  Very dramatic and my brief visit there only makes me want to go back and spend a few days there soaking in the beauty of the full canyon.
