In July 2021, I, like four million other people who were all equally disenchanted and frustrated with their current employment situation, decided to exercise my escape clause and head out to the "Great Beyond."  (For me, the "Great Beyond" was heading north of Ladybird Lake in Austin.  If you're from there and a Southie, I'm bettin' you get that...)  So I sold the house, bought a van, loaded my precocious cat, Kat, into it, and headed to my first stop in California. 

 

Since then, I've logged thousands of miles trying to find inspiration, friendship, natural beauty, and just flat-out awe.  And so far, the journey has been serving heaping helpings of each.  Every day is yet another opportunity to find out more about myself while pursuing the whims of the moment.  And for someone who never lived in the moment before, it's a really interesting place to be.
